Work With Me
Hypnotherapy and Coaching | Seattle and Virtual Sessions Nationwide
If you've landed here, something has brought you to this moment. Maybe you've tried other approaches. Maybe you're new to this kind of work and curious. Maybe you just know, deep down, that something needs to change — and you're ready to actually do something about it.
Whatever brought you here, you're in the right place.
How I Work — Hypno-Coaching
My approach is called Hypno-Coaching — an integration of clinical hypnotherapy and transformational coaching that works on both levels of the mind simultaneously.
Most approaches work with either the conscious mind (talk therapy, coaching, CBT) or the subconscious mind (hypnotherapy). Hypno-Coaching works with both — at the same time — because lasting transformation requires both.
Here's what that means in practice:
• Hypnotherapy accesses the subconscious mind — where your habits, beliefs, emotional patterns, and automatic responses actually live. This is where real change begins.
• Coaching works with the conscious mind — building awareness, developing new frameworks, creating actionable tools and strategies that support and reinforce the subconscious work.
• Together they create change that is felt from the inside out — not just behavioral shifts, but genuine identity-level transformation.
Combining coaching with hypnotherapy makes for a wonderfully well rounded, holistic approach to wellness. Every session integrates both. There is really no separation between the two — they happen together, naturally, in a way that is tailored entirely to you.
The Modalities
My work draws on several powerful and complementary core approaches — each chosen because of what it uniquely contributes to the process of deep, lasting change. However beyond these core modalities, I draw on a range of additional techniques — including EFT, somatic tools, breath work, and eye movement integration — weaving in whatever best serves each individual client and their unique process.
Hypnosis
Hypnosis in a therapeutic setting is not what you may expect it to be - as you've likely seen it in movies or on stage. It's a completely natural state of being — one you move in and out of every day without realizing it. That deeply absorbed feeling when you're reading a book, driving a familiar route, or drifting in the space between sleep and waking awareness — that's hypnosis.
In a guided hypnotic state, the critical conscious mind relaxes and steps back, allowing us to work directly with the subconscious — where your patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses actually live. You are always aware, always in control, and always able to bring yourself back to full waking consciousness at any moment.
Most people experience it as the most relaxed they've felt in years.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses the hypnotic state therapeutically — as a doorway into the subconscious mind where real and lasting change can happen.
Throughout our lives, every experience — positive and negative — shapes our perception of reality. Our subconscious mind builds beliefs, assumptions, and emotional responses based on these experiences, and then applies them automatically whenever similar situations arise. Often these patterns were formed in childhood or adolescence, when we had limited perspective and resources — and they continue running long after they've stopped being useful.
Hypnotherapy accesses these patterns directly, releases what no longer serves you, and creates space for new, healthier beliefs and ways of being to take root. Often, simply seeing the original pattern clearly from an honest, resourced place is enough to change it permanently.
NLP — Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP is the study of how the language of your mind — your thoughts, images, internal dialogue, and the meanings you attach to your experiences — shapes your reality and your behavior.
Where hypnotherapy works primarily with the subconscious, NLP works at the intersection of conscious and subconscious — giving us precise tools to identify and shift the specific thought patterns, mental frameworks, and internal representations that are driving unwanted behaviors and limiting beliefs.
In practice, NLP often accelerates the hypnotherapy work — helping clients not just release old patterns but actively install new, more empowering ways of thinking and responding.
Used Together
Hypnosis, hypnotherapy, and NLP are not separate treatments — in my sessions they weave together naturally, each amplifying the others. Combined with coaching, they create a uniquely powerful process that works at every level simultaneously: subconscious and conscious, emotional and behavioral, identity and action. You will leave our sessions with tools for immediate use - helping you gain greater awareness and control in not only the issues you want help with, but usable for all areas of your life.
We are designed to heal. We are designed to move in the direction of health, wellbeing, and our own highest potential. Sometimes we just need the right tools — and the right guide — to remember that.
Temple Method™ - The ABCs of Becoming
At the heart of my work is what I call the ABC Framework — a series of waypoints that guide clients from where they are to where they want to be.
Just like learning your ABCs gave you the foundation to read, write, and communicate — this framework gives you the foundation to understand yourself, rewrite your patterns, and consciously create the life you want.
The ABCs can be used in the moment — as tools to interrupt old patterns and triggers as they arise. In longer programs, we work them systematically and deeply across all areas of life, building a completely new inner foundation layer by layer.
The A's — Where We Begin:
• Awareness — seeing clearly what's actually happening, what you're doing, and how you're being
• Acknowledgement — honestly recognizing the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors at play and how they came about
• Accountability — taking ownership of your experience without shame or blame
• Acceptance — making peace with what was, and what is. The tipping point when the healing really begins
The B's — Where We Go Deeper:
• Beliefs — identifying and rewriting the subconscious beliefs driving your patterns
• Breath — using the body as an anchor and tool for nervous system regulation
• Breakthrough — the moment of genuine subconscious shift
• Being — stepping into a new way of being in the world
The C's — Where It All Comes Together:
• Connection — reconnecting with yourself, your values, and what matters most
• Clarity — a clear, embodied sense of who you choose to become and where you're going
• Choice — reclaiming the power to choose how you perceive and respond to your experience
• Creation — consciously creating the life, identity, and inner experience you want
• Calibration — fine tuning and adjusting your new patterns, beliefs, and ways of being with precision and intention — so they become yours completely
These aren't just concepts — they're lived experiences we move through together, at your pace, in the order and depth that your transformation requires.
Individual Sessions vs. Programs — What's the Difference?
Both individual sessions and longer programs use the same Hypno-Coaching approach and ABC Framework. The difference is depth, breadth, and the kind of transformation that becomes possible.
Individual Sessions and Packages:
Perfect for addressing specific issues, patterns, or challenges. We work with what you bring and create meaningful shifts session by session. Many clients experience profound changes in just a few sessions.
Available as individual sessions or packages of 3, 6, 9, or 12 sessions.
3 and 6 Month Hypno-Coaching Programs:
For those ready to go all the way.
In a program we don't just address the presenting issue — we work the entire ABC Framework systematically across all areas of your life. Layer by layer, we peel back the old patterns, break through the subconscious blocks, and rebuild your inner foundation from the ground up.
The difference between sessions and a program is the difference between solving a problem and transforming the person who was having it.
By the end of a program you don't just feel better — you understand yourself at a level most people never reach. You have the tools, the awareness, and the inner foundation to navigate anything life brings — because you've done the work to genuinely change who you're being.
Sessions change things. Programs change you.
What Clients Say
"Taking Shalynn's program has been the single BEST self care investment I've ever made. And this is coming from someone who hardly spent any time on self care over a decade as a full time professional, mother + (then) wife. Shalynn gently guided me to self discovery that has changed my life and I don't say that lightly. Thank you Shalynn!"
— Eugenia P."I chose to work with Shalynn because I found myself wanting to shift some of the ways I thought about and associated things. Just a short time into the program, I already noticed daily changes and it keeps me inspired knowing the tools she is giving me are for life, and will work efficiently to make the necessary changes, regardless of what comes my way."
— Jennifer O."Shalynn listens intently, asks great questions, and re-frames issues. I began to see big changes, could hear Shalynn's positive words in my head and saw huge shifts both personally and professionally. The work with her has felt effortless and fun. She is someone I look up to on a personal and professional level. I could not recommend Shalynn highly enough for anyone looking to transform, grow and make profound shifts in their life. She is a true treasure!"
— Bonnie L." Having worked with Shalynn pretty consistently over many years, I am so grateful for the unique and personal experience that she's provided me! She has helped me identify areas for personal growth, empowered me to take control and always provides a safe and judgment free space. Not only have I grown tremendously in my time with Shalynn, I have learned so much about the human mind, which is very useful to me in my job as a fitness professional." — Christin E.
A Note About Cricket
I'm frequently joined in session by Cricket — my French Bulldog and self-appointed Director of First Impressions. She takes her role very seriously and considers a warm welcome her most important professional responsibility.
If you'd prefer your session without her, just mention it when booking. No explanation needed — Cricket and I are happiest when you are.
Ready to Begin?
Every journey starts with a single session. The Initial Session (1.5 hours) is where we meet, go beneath the surface, and begin the real work. You can take it as a standalone appointment or roll it into a package or program — we'll discuss what feels right at the end of our first session together.
Sessions are available in person in Seattle and virtually, anywhere nationwide.
